Civilian Krav Maga

Krav Maga is the official hand-to-hand combat system of the Israeli Defense Forces (I.D.F.), Israeli Police and Security Services. It is also the preferred system for U.S. Military and law enforcement personnel. Krav Maga is not a traditional martial art. No katas. No rituals.
Based on simple principles and instinctive movements, this reality based system is designed to teach real self defense in the shortest possible time. Learn to defend against common chokes, grabs, and bearhugs, as well as weapons such as guns, knives, and sticks. Just as important, we teach people to function during the stress and shock of a sudden, violent encounter. Tested on the battlefield and in the streets, Krav Maga’s practical approach to self defense will make you safer and more secure.

Although Krav Maga shares many techniques with other martial arts, like Savate and Kickboxing (for the fist- and kick-fighting techniques) or Ju-Jitsu (for the grappling and disarming techniques), the training is quite different. It stresses fighting under worst-case circumstances (for example, against several opponents, when protecting someone else, with one arm unusable, when dizzy, or against armed opponents).

Training in Krav Maga is an aerobic workout.  Stress drills are used to simulate real life attacks. Training is done with simulated knives, baseball bats, clubs and guns to teach students how to deal with an armed attacker. Students learn confidence with dealing with attacks, while getting into shape and building strength.

.

Self-defense is the foundation of Krav Maga. Students learn to defend themselves against hostile actions, to avoid injury, and to quickly overcome their assailant. Krav Maga defenses address a wide variety of aggressive acts, such as punches, kicks, chokes, bear hugs, headlocks, grabs, as well as defenses against multiple assailants and assailants armed with a firearm, edged weapon, or blunt object. Students apply the relevant Krav Maga principles and techniques in a multitude of situations, even in unfamiliar or adverse circumstances, such as dark surroundings; from a sitting or lying position; with limited freedom or movement; or under extreme stress and/or fatigue.

Hand to hand combat constitutes a more advanced and sophisticated phase of Krav Maga, which teaches how to neutralize an opponent quickly and effectively. It embodies elements related to the actual performance of the fight: tactics, feints, powerful combinations of different attacks, the psychological dimensions of the fight, and learning how to use the environment to your advantage.

In addition, Krav Maga incorporates specialized training methods to not only challenge students physically, but to also instill into the student a special mental discipline meant to strengthen the spirit and to develop the ability to deal with violent confrontations under high stress. These training methods have been used in Israel's most elite units and have proven themselves in real fighting.

Krav Maga is not merely another school of martial arts based on traditional approaches. It is a modern method characterized by a coherent and logical way of thinking which builds up easy, natural, and practical techniques featuring simple movements of the human body.
Krav Maga training simulates real life situations. It teaches people how to save lives and to cope with common street violence. To be effective in the streets, Krav Maga cannot include rules and limitations. Therefore, there are no sport competitions for Krav Maga because it is designed to remain a realistic.

Women

Our classes for Women focus on rape prevention techniques and tactics. Learn to spot danger signs and learn to defend yourself even when no danger signs are given. This program teaches you how to defend yourself against common chokes, grabs, bearhugs, and other attacks, including fighting on the ground and when confronted by a weapon. We emphasize realistic scenarios and realistic defenses!

 Military/Law Enforcement    Coming soon!

Krav Maga is dedicated to improving the defensive tactics training for law enforcement and military personnel. As the official defensive tactics system of the Israeli Defense Forces, the Israeli National and Military Police, and Israeli Special Operations and Security Units, Krav Maga has been tested in every law enforcement and military environment – from front lines to back streets, from prisoner transport to “take no prisoners”.
Because Law Enforcement and Military units establish differing use of force policies, the Krav Maga Force Training Division has established two branches of training.
